NOTE: I’m no longer listing a short overview below for the show notes. Instead, I’m sharing with you the actual notes I write ahead of time for each episode of Free Business Coaching. Obvs, this is not what I say verbatim in the videos. But it’s how I map out the juicy details I want to share with you on each episode! -Kim

Ep. #16: Taking Control of Your Schedule

We’re baaaaaack with the next episode of Free Business Coaching - your weekly dose of business inspiration, tips and coaching. Today, we’re talking about TAKING CONTROL OF YOUR SCHEDULE.

If you’re working more hours than you want or find it really freaking hard to SHUT OFF your brain at night - then this episode is for you.

So, let’s dive in…

Your schedule. It sounds so simple - but it’s not. How many times have you promised yourself that you’d get up early to work out or that you wouldn’t have wine on Mondays anymore?? But then the day comes and….well….

The next thing you know, you’re crawling in to bed at night thinking, “tomorrow. I’ll do it tomorrow.”

How you’re spending your time is 100% iN YOUR CONTROL. So if you don’t love how much you’re currently working, you get to change it. And it starts today.

I typically see 3 different struggles women have:

  1. Working crazy hours.

  2. Can’t shut your brain off at night.

  3. Working full time hours with LESS than full time client load.

All 3 of these are usually driven by some deep belief that you aren’t doing enough - that you won’t hit your goals - or that it will take more HOURS to hit your goals.

This all comes from the age-old programming we’ve all received. Right? But THE HOURS YOU WORK ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS. If they were, you’d already be a millionaire.

STEP 1: Identify your patterns: The first step to taking control of your calendar is to see and understand WHY this is your pattern. What do you believe or what are you AFRAID OF HAPPENING if you do/don’t work more. For example, does marking off tasks make you feel productive? What is the DRIVING FORCE behind overscheduling yourself and/or filling all your time?

STEP 2: Interrupt the patterns: Once you’ve identified WHY, it’s time to interrupt the pattern. Take a moment and think about what you really want your days/schedule to look like. How many hours do you need to be working, what is your DREAM SCHEDULE?

STEP 3: What do you really want? What makes you feel like you’re living your best life? Is it working out every day, eating better, sleeping more…time with your husband, walks with your dog? Whatever YOU enjoy is what we want to make time for.

Now, you’re going to schedule this in your calendar AND STICK TO IT. This is your commitment to YOURSELF. And may require you to set boundaries with others.

Because a CEO makes decisions and implements them.

Helping you figure out where to focus is something I can help you with. This is how we create YOUR strategy so that you always know where you need to focus, what you need to do.
